Valentine's 2013

Marinn had to make a Valentine's Box or animal for school and so we decided to let Taurin and Shaw make one too... Can you guess who's is who's??

Marinn specifically suggested that we not give her "Love Bug" any front teeth... Hmmm I wonder where she got that idea??

Taurin carried around her butterfly pretty much all day... Her name was Lizzie.  How do you like Taurin's all pink outfit?  I thought it was so fitting for the day.

I didn't get a picture with Shaw and his monster guy but he had a great time suggesting all the colors and accessories for him.  He especially loved the pipe cleaners.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

The Power of Influence

This is the picture I drew while Marinn watched...
Then she drew this:

She decided that not just daddy and Shaw had muscles but all of us... so the spots above our arms are our muscles.
I love that she put everyone's initials next to their stick figures (I helped with the J and S).
She told me that everyone was standing in buckets so you can't see our legs. (this was so random it just made me giggle)
You can faintly see it but we are all wearing round yellow clothing : )
She said she didn't draw Blaize because he is too small to draw.
I also love the random letters... (only the letters that she is good at drawing) where I had put our last name.

This was a good reminder of how much our children are paying attention to how we do things, even when we think they aren't.  Overall I think her picture is much better than mine... pure and simple. Mine looks like I was trying too hard.

Christmas Reindeer Ornament

My mom saw this great idea and so we gave it a try.

Materials:
-Balls of yarn (any size or color)
-Pipe cleaners
-Puff balls
-Googly eyes
-Hot glue
-Ornament hooks

Super easy and fast, and great for the kids! You thread a piece of pipe cleaner through your ball of yarn and bend to your liking. Then, glue on the eyes and nose and wha la! a reindeer!

Even Shaw got involved... our spare glue stick holder : )

This picture is hilarious!

Turkey Pumpkins

Me and the girls got super motivated today and after some flash cards and practicing writing the letter A we decided to turn some pumpkins into turkeys.

We downloaded this super cute template and wha la! pumpkin turkeys!

After placing the pumpkins in the front yard, Taurin saw the wind blowing the feathers of the turkeys and exclaimed, "Our turkeys are going to fly away!!!"
