Ice Creamy Goodness

There is nothing sweeter than some ice cream after a long day at the park.  

Marinn was the first to finish her ice cream cone.  She's such a pro.

Taurin was so funny eating her ice cream. She was really focused.  

I love this shirt on Toto, I just think she looks sooo cute.

Taurin is TWO

My little Toto is 2.  

We had a few friends over and Taurin was having such a wonderful time playing with her friends and eating lots of grapes.

This is Piper... one of Taurin's new friends. She really likes Shaw.  She calls him Shawd.    

Super cute Ivy... she totally won the prize for the coolest hair at the party. 

Taurin wasn't sure about blowing out the candles.  She just stared at them like "What do you want me to do with those?"

This was our "game"... it's called give the 2 year olds a bunch of balloons and see what they do with them.  We saw a great variety of "blowing them up", throwing, hitting, popping, sitting, and organizing them.  Kids are great!

This was Taurin about 1 year ago... it's crazy how much she has changed in just 12 months.  She can talk so well, she's super adventurous, goofy, smiles all the time, has no fear, and is just a wonderful.

These are the balloons the girls got for Valentines day.  

They love balloons and were so excited when they got up that morning to see balloons the size of them.  

They were giving their balloons piggy back rides.  It was so cute!

2/12/10 - 2/14/10

This post is in memory of Mr. Monkey who passed away after a severe head laceration from the kitchen cupboard.  He passed quickly but he will be missed greatly. He had a short life but was loved much.

Super Heros

My mom has a friend who drives a trash truck.  There are 3 little boys who always run beside him with towels as super hero capes when he's picking up the trash.  He asked my mom to make them some real capes.  She used some wonder under to get the S to stick and then she stitched around it with red thread.

We had some pretty cute models for the process : )

My Tough Boy...

My mom tied this bandana on him the other night... He's such a cutie!

Look at that intensity.  Just like his daddy.

He's been sitting and playing with this toy a lot lately.  Pulling it towards himself and trying to chew on the knobs.  Tonight he pulled on it but lost his balance and slid to the side, catching himself with one hand.  

You can't really tell but he is holding himself up with the one hand.  He was kind of yell/crying like he was trying to say, "Help!! I'm stuck! I can't hold it!"  

It was hilarious! He looked like a little rock climber.

The goofy had it courtesy of Marinn... She kept saying he wanted to wear it.

Daddy love.

Marinn had a toy phone she was playing with the other day.  As she whips the phone open she says, "Excuse me, I have a call from my Daddy."  As she walks away I hear her say so sweetly, "I love youuu... I miss you so much!"

We went to the park this week and Marinn and I were talking on this fun toy that was like those phones that are made with 2 cans and some string but this was with metal tubing.  The conversation went something like this:
Marinn: "Hi Mommy. I have to tell you something."
Me: "What is it Marinn?"
Marinn: In a very excited voice, "When Daddy comes home I'm going to give him a big hug and a big kiss!"
Me: "Ohhh Daddy is going to love that!"
Marinn: "Yeah he is!"

As we were driving home that same night I reminded Marinn what she had told me at the park asking, "Sooo you are going to give Daddy a big hug and kiss when he comes home huh?"  Marinn replies, "Yes! annnnnd you know what mom? He's gonna kiss YOU.  He's gonna KISS You. He IS."  The tone of her voice was so cute almost like she was warning me like I should prepare myself.  I couldn't help but giggle as she told me.  Then she says, "And you are gonna like it.  He's gonna kiss you."  I agreed with her as I smiled.

Your Baby Can Read Go Potty & Read!

I've been potty training Taurin but she's such a ball of energy it's hard to keep her still long enough to get everything out.  So I've been trying to distract her with a book to read... then today I got a brilliant idea.
We have that program called Your Baby Can Read!  It's basically books, flash cards, and videos that have big words and then corresponding pictures to help them learn words.  (This is one of the books.)

When working with the girls Taurin is always the one with the limited attention span.   So today I grabbed the book as we headed to one of our many potty breaks.  She loved going through the book and was actually very involved with the whole process not to mention she went potty!!!  I've decided that if we are going to be spending that much time in the bathroom we might as well be learning to read at the same time.

I'm excited to see how this goes... I just might be onto a new program! Of course I will call it Your Baby Can Go Potty & Read!!
